யாழ்ப்பாண பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் நிறுவப்பட்டிருந்த இறந்தவர்களை நினைவுகூரும் தூபி உடைப்பு மற்றும் கொவிட்–19 தொற்றினால் மரணிக்கும் முஸ்லிம் ஜனாஸாக்களை பலவந்தமாக எரியூட்டுவது போன்றன நாட்டிலுள்ள சிறுபான்மை சமூகத்தின் உணர்வுகளை கொச்சைப்படுத்தி அவமதிக்கும் அரசாங்கத்தின் வெளிப்பாட்டையே எடுத்துக் காட்டுகிறது.

இந்நடவடிக்கைகளை கண்டித்து நாளை திங்கட்கிழமை (11) வடக்கு மற்றும் கிழக்கில் இடம்பெறவுள்ள பூரண ஹர்தால் கடையடைப்புக்கு முஸ்லிம் சமூகம் முழு ஆதரவையும் வழங்க வேண்டும் என்று ஸ்ரீலங்கா முஸ்லிம் காங்கிரஸ் கேட்டு கொள்கிறது.

SLMC requests the Muslims and its supporters in the north and east to join hands in solidarity with fellow Tamils and support fully with the “Harthal” called to observed tomorrow (11) against the insensitivity around memorialization and treating the dead with dignity by the government and to condemn the destruction of memorial monument for the dead in Jaffna university and forced cremation Muslim janazha (infected by Covid-19).
